After the La Paz tour, we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to the airport to take your flight to Uyuni. Today, we depart for our first foray on for the Uyuni Salt Flats tour. We'll be picked up from the airport and the journey begins with a short visit to the famed (and rusting) train cemetery, full of rusting train cars that were once used to transport minerals and people to and from Uyuni. We then continue to the salt-harvesting village of Colchani to see how the locals produce salt. After this (finally!) we will reach the great Uyuni Salt Flats, visiting the bizarre Incahuasi Island that is covered in enormous cacti and from where we get an amazing view of the flats. We will enjoy a beautiful sunset in the middle of the endless expanse of glittering salt and after the Uyuni Salt Flats tour, return to Colchani to overnight in a hotel built from salt bricks!
