The Ourika Valley is located about 60 km from Marrakech. It is one of the best known and visited both by foreigners, as Moroccans across the country. It retains its splendor and beauty in a unique and unimaginable way. 09:30h: We started the excursion. Our driver will wait for you at the agreed point and the excursion will begin. After approximately one hour, we will reach the majestic Ourika Valley. In the excursion you will visit: Berber market (Monday, Thursday and Friday, we always try to match this tour with one of these days so you can meet). Typical Berber house, where they will open their doors to show us their humble home, their way of life, to taste the famous Moroccan tea, in exchange for a small tip (not included in the price of the excursion). Women's cooperative that manufacture Argán. If you feel like you can visit one of the women's cooperatives in the valley. There they will teach you how to get the fabulous Argan oil, known worldwide for its fantastic properties. If you want, you can buy some of the products made with the oil, both with aesthetic application and food. Then you will be taken to the closest point to the waterfalls, located in the village of Setti Fadma. There you will have enough time to see the waterfalls either for free or accompanied by a local guide (optional and will be hired right there through our driver with an approximate cost of 100DH, not included in the price of the tour). It is necessary to notice that in the 1st waterfall, the most famous, is the one of easier access and feasible to go up with children, it is not necessary the collaboration of the local guide, but the other waterfalls have a difficult access, where it is necessary to have the help from the local guide, a good physical condition and appropriate footwear, since there are sections totally inadvisable for children and people with low physical form, but the visits are unequaled and with the great effort is enormously rewarded to our sight. You have to choose between one of these two excursions: 1. Ouzoud Waterfalls Located in the central part of Morocco (Middle Atlas), with more than 100 meters of height, they are considered the highest in North Africa and one of the most beautiful in the country. They are located in the village of Tanaghmeilt, 150 km from Marrakech and about 3 hours away. 8-9 hours approximately (depending on the time of year): We start the tour. Our driver will wait for you at the agreed point and the journey will begin. Then we will go to the waterfalls. During the tour you can see various landscapes that characterize Morocco. Once you have arrived, you can hire the services of a local guide if you want (through our driver and with a cost of 100 DH). He will teach the most well-kept secrets in the area. You can visit both sides of the waterfall, climb a barge (not included in the price) and even if you are brave, bathe in its cold waters. Later, you can eat at one of the local restaurants, then return to Marrakech arriving around 18-19h. 2. Essaouira Moroccan port city known as the Pearl of the Atlantic. Its medina or historic center is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The union of diverse civilizations and cultures, remains valid between its walls, which made it in 2012 perfect scenario for the series of Game of Thrones. Getting lost among its narrow streets, harbor, enjoying its local crafts, its beaches both relaxed and adventurous, and surfing or kitesurfing, make Essaouira an obligatory destination in Morocco. 8-9 hours approximately (depending on the time of year): We start the tour. Our driver will wait for you at the agreed point and the journey will begin. 3 hours on the way from Marrakech, where there will be a stop at the Women's Cooperative manufactured by Argan. There they will teach you how to get the fabulous Argan oil, known worldwide for its fantastic properties. If you want, you can buy some of the products made with the oil, both with aesthetic application and food. Mandatory stop in the famous Argan trees, where goats are raised eating the fruits of the tree. Later we will arrive at Essaouira, where the driver will leave you at the point closest to the Medina. You will have more than enough time to see the Medina, the port, its beaches and eat in one of the restaurants or chiringuitos and taste the freshly caught fish.
