Meet and greet at Juan Santa María International Airport and private transfer to San José. Duration: 20 minutes The Grano de Oro Hotel will receive you with a touch of elegance and Comfort.
Early pick-up at your hotel and head west from San José to Turrialba. Breakfast on route. After arriving at the river, expert guides will explain safety procedures and provide you with the necessary rafting gear before the rafting adventure begins. Once in the water, you’ll experience sheer exhilaration as you face the challenge of each huge wave and battle surging waters down miles of raging rapids. During this first day on the river, your journey will take slightly over an hour and a half. The river passes through scenic canyons where crystal clear waterfalls plummet down into the rapidly coursing river below. Tall trees and dense green vegetation reach right down to the water’s edge. The thick undergrowth of this protected area provides shelter for a variety tropical animals and birds, including some endangered species. After breakfast, Tour and transfer to Arenal Volcano Between 9:00-10:00 am, you will depart by raft for an even more fun-filled day of whitewater rafting excitement (approximately 3½ hours over class III-IV rapids) and enjoy a delicious picnic lunch along the river. Next, you will have a chance to change at private facilities before continuing with the itinerary. After lunch, you’ll take a private transfer to Arenal area. Approximate driving time is two and a half hours. Afternoon at your leisure at the Tabacón Resort and Spa. Tabacon Resort is located near the base of the Arenal Volcano, which sits between three types of tropical forest, each with a different microclimate. On a clear night, guests can admire the Arenal volcano and its perfect cone, which, despite the fact that it has been sleeping for years, is still impressive. After about one hour of driving, you’ll arrive at a site surrounded by a tropical dry forest with its high trees. Once there, the tour guides will get you ready for the ride of your life. After a short hike, you will come to the first platform, where, once ready for instructions, you’ll start flying down the suspended cables. During the tour, you will cross a walking bridge between two platforms, which is a truly exhilarating and exciting experience.
