The tour is designed to see the magnificent green desert. On arrival at Maun Airport you will be met by your guide, and depart from the Airport driving to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve where you will spend 3 nights in a private campsite at Deception Valley. Deception Valley is a magnificent fossil river which is covered by clusters of trees and grass. Animals found in this area are the kudu, giraffe, eland, springbok, hartebeest, wildebeest, lion, brown hyena, black-backed jackal, and leopard. On arrival at the campsite, you'll find your tents being set and the chef will prepare dinner. Later, you'll spend the night in your tents. Read more
Our days will consist of exploring the Deception Valley and Passarge Pan in depth with morning and afternoon game drives daily. We rise early each morning, have a quick coffee and biscuit before heading out in search of game before they retreat deep into the bush to escape the heat of day. We return to camp in time for brunch, and then get to relax for a time before. We will leave camp again in the later afternoon, hoping to catch the animals as they begin moving towards water holes after the dry day. Each evening you get to enjoy the peace of camp, the delicious meals cooked by our Bush Chefs, and sitting around the camp fire listening to the sounds of the night. Read more
After your early breakfast, you'll do your morning drive in the Deception Valley and Lethiahau Pan. You will have your packed lunch and water since you will spend most of the day out doing the drive. You'll expect to see a variety of animal and bird spices like the secretary bird, kori bustard, double-banded couser, acacia pied barbet, crimson breasted shrike, lesser gray shrike, sabota, sparrow-lark, common ostrich, scaly-feathered finch, and the gabar. On arrival at the campsite, the camp hand will prepare the tents while the chef prepares your meals. Hot water for bathing will also be ready. You will spend your night around the fireplace as you will be discussing the itinerary of the following day. Read more
Today we will move our camp to Piper’s Pan, and this is as far south as most people visit in this area. The road to get to Piper is badly corrugated and potholed, but the Pan itself is worth the drive. It is only a few kilometres wide, but is a beautiful piece of perfectly flat grass that is green when the rains come and dry gold without. Conservation of this area has provided us with a sanctuary that is still pure and untouched. Days will be spent in our Game Drive vehicles exploring this remote destination and viewing the fascinating wildlife. We will spend 2 nights in this beautiful area. Read more
Piper's Pan is only a few kilometers across, but it's a stunning stretch of perfectly flat grass. In the rains it's green, and often covered with springbok and gemsbok. By as early as May, it has usually turned a beautiful gold, like a field of ripe barley. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives.
We will rise very early, and you will greet the fresh African morning with coffee and a biscuit before we head out again to leopard Pan, where we will camp for another 2 nights. The early morning offers a better opportunity to view the predators. We spend the morning on a game drive before returning to camp for brunch. The afternoon can be spent at your leisure, taking in the surroundings, catching up on postcard or having a well-deserved siesta. Late afternoon takes us back out on game drive in search of new sightings. Read more
We rise early and after coffee/tea and a healthy snack we go on a game drive into Leopard Pan. A packed lunch will be served at the camp. After a last breakfast cooked by your bush chef, you will wave a fond goodbye to the African Bush and head towards Maun International Airport for your connecting flight home.
