Southern Tales
After breakfast at Hotel, head to the South! The Mauritius trip starts by a visit at Grand Bassin also known as Ganga Talao. It is a crater lake situated in a secluded mountain area in the district of Savanne. It is about 1800 feet above sea level and is considered the most sacred Hindu place in Mauritius. After Grand Bassin, enjoy the magnificent view at Alexandra Falls which is located on the road through the Gorges National Park Black River. Next on the Mauritius trip is the seven colored earth which is a natural phenomenon and a prominent tourist attraction. The colors evolved through conversion of basaltic lava to clay minerals. It is a relatively small area of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colours (approximately red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow). Follow the visit at the Rhum Factory of Chamarel, where you will experience a guided tour as well as a tasting of about 8 varieties of rhum that we produce there. Then proceed to visit the new attraction in Mauritius: The Curious Corner. The establishment is located opposite the Seven Colored Earths, and is the first gallery of interactive illusions and art of its kind in Mauritius.
