It is said when conquering the mountain, one creates an everlasting connection with the majestic treasure of nature. Triglav is Slovenia’s sacred mountain. It has silhouette of three peaks, giving the mountain its name: Three Heads. Mt. Triglav sits high above the rest of the Julian Alps, perched on a high-lying plateau and surrounded by deep valleys. Climbing the mountain demands steady and precise steps, a focused mind and courageous spirit.
Upon your arrival to Ljubljana airport, a private transfer to Bled will be waiting for you. Just minutes after leaving the airport, in the distance, you will already see the mountain and its three heads. You will be standing on top of it in just a couple of days as your Mount Triglav Trekking will begin soon. After check in at your accommodation and briefing with our staff, you will have free rest of the day. You will have our bikes at your disposal, to circle Bled lake or cycle just outside of town and visit the marvellous Vintgar Gorge. Read more
After early breakfast at the hotel, a transfer will take you to Bohinj lake to the starting point of your Mount Triglav Trekking adventure. Equipped with maps and detailed route description, you will follow the stream of Mostnica river and the canyon it carved. You will hike to the tree line and high up to the rocky world of high limestone mountains. Accompanied by majestic mountain peaks, you will reach Planika hut, where your accommodation will be. Starting early in the morning, you will climb via ferrata on the ridge to the summit. Via ferrata (italian for "iron way", is a cliff path that leads the way across steep and exposed sections. It is equipped with steel ladders and steel wires attached to the rock to provide security. On the summit you will be rewarded with breathtaking views, reaching beyond Ljubljana city and on a beautiful sunny day, even all the way to the Adriatic sea. You will descend through the well-known Triglav Lakes Valley. The route will take you past Green Lake and Kidney Lake to Double Lake, where yo will find a Triglav Lakes hut and your accommodation for the night. Hike: 8 - 9 hours Elevation: 652 m Read more
Back on track after breakfast, you will come to Black Lake - the last lake in the Triglav Lakes Valley. Continue your Mount Triglav Trekking adventue as the scenic path will lead you across the plateaus high above Bohinj lake. At Komna plateau you will begin descending towards the valley. At the end of the hike, you can optionally do another 20-minute hike to the most famous and one of the highest waterfalls in Slovenia - Savica.
