The small Balkan country, Montenegro, offers a magnificent scenery. Montenegro offers monumental mountains of its Northern landscape to beautiful beaches of crystal blue waters of the Adriatic. The jewel of the Adriatic is the Bay of Kotor, where sea and mountains create a spectacular landscape. In addition to this lavish nature, discover well-preserved medieval towns and remarkable Orthodox monasteries.
At the airport you will be greeted by your English speaking tour guide. Then bus transfers you to your hotel in Budva. Once checked in, we will visit the medieval Old Town of Budva, surrounded by walls and filled with beautiful medieval churches. Return to hotel and dinner.
Breakfast, then depart to Cetinje, the former Royal Capital of Montenegro.Visit the palace of King Nicolas I, the last ruler of the country, and Vlaska church from the 15th century. After, continue to the village of Njegusi, renowned for its smoked ham and cheese. Lunch provided on route. We will take the famous historic Austro-Hungarian road that bends and turns to see the beautiful view of the whole Bay of Kotor. Continue along the Adriatic coast to Sveti Stefan. Built in the 15th century on a rocky island, it was originally a shelter for those fleeing from Turkish invasions. This former village converted into luxurious place is one of the most famous views of Montenegro. Sveti Stefan is frequented by the biggest stars on the planet (Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Sylvester Stallone, Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt, Prince Charles and Lady Diana have also stayed there during their honeymoon). Guests enjoy the special architectural ambiance which contributes to the beauty of this place. Then continue to the summer residence of King Nikola I, the only and last king of Montenegro. Return to hotel in Budva. Dinner and overnight. Read more
Depart to Tivat after breakfast to cruise along the bay. View the Gulf of Kotor, its mouth sinks into the land of 29.6 kilometers, between the massifs of Orijen (1895m) and Lovćen (1749m). View Herceg Novi, Risan and the small town of Perast, that has many fortresses and watchtowers from the 16th Century. Stop on the artificial island where Our Lady of Rocks stands. Lunch provided on route. Visit Old Town Kotor in the late afternoon. Back to Budva and dinner at the hotel. Read more
After breakfast, depart to Croatia to visit Dubrovnik. This city was declared World Heritage by U.N.E.S.C.O. Walk through the streets and visit the first Stradun with its famous fountain Onforio. Visit Rector's Palace and Franciscan Monastery with its famous pharmacy, and also the Dominican Monastery. Free time and lunch provided after visits. Back to Budva and dinner at the hotel. Read more
After breakfast, drive through the mountains to the village of Rijeka Crnojevića. This village was the capital of Zeta state, and was a great maritime trading hub and it is also known for its beautiful stone bridge. Here is where the start of the cruise on Skadar Lake will embark. Skadar Lake is known for its beauty and rich environment, it also has many islands occupied by churches and monasteries. Sail to Virpazar, the most popular merchant’s village. Lunch at a local restaurant, where you will be served fish caught daily and cooked in the traditional way. Then continue towards Kolasin via Podgorica, stop at 12th century Morača Monastery that is along the canyon of the Morača River. Arrive back to hotel and dinner. Read more
After breakfast, depart hotel to the ski resort Jezerine, there we will greet 4x4 vehicles and depart to Vranjak, to visit Ogrorele’s Head (1998 m), Troglave (2072 m), Zekos Head (2117 m). Photo stop and relax. After we continue towards Black Head (2139 m), which is the highest peak of the mountain Bjelasica. This lookout offers gorgeous views of lakes and surrounding mountains. We continue through Lake Sisko Bendovac to Biograd Lake which is surrounded by primeval forest, which is one of the three primeval forests in Europe. Continue through the primeval forest and arrive at Lake Biogradska. Lunch at local restaurant. Return to ski resort Jezerine and go back to Kolasin and dinner at hotel. Read more
Breakfast, depart for Tara Canyon. Tara Canyon stretches over 78 km and is the deepest canyon of Europe (1300m). The Tara River is the longest river in Montenegro. Continue to Zabljak, lunch break before exploring Durmitor National Park. Shaped by glaciers and carved by rivers, Durmitor has striking natural beauty, also consisting of glacial lakes and its famous Black Lake (Crno Jezero). Back to Kolasin and dinner at the hotel.
