Arrival at Airport Podgorica

Welcome to Montenegro! At the airport you will be greeted by your English speaking tour guide. Then bus transfers you to your hotel in Budva, once checked in, dinner at your hotel.

Budva, 7 nights

Cetinje and Njegusi

Breakfast. Depart for Cetinje, the former Royal Capital of Montenegro. Visit the palace of King Nicolas I, the last ruler of the country, and Vlaska church from the 15th century. After, continue to the village of Njegusi, renowned for its smoked ham and cheese. Lunch break. We will take the famous historic Austro-Hungarian road that bends and turns to where we will have a beautiful view of the whole Bay of Kotor. We will continue to Kotor then head back to Budva to the hotel. Dinner and overnight. Read more

Bay of Kotor

After breakfast we will depart by bus to the Bay of Kotor. The Gulf of Kotor mouth sinks into the land at 29.6 kilometers, between the massifs of Orijen (1895m) and Lovcen (1749m). Then we’ll make our way to Tivat where we will cruise around the bay; it has the deepest fjords of the Adriatic Sea and is classified by U.N.E.S.C.O World Heritage. We will stop on the artificial island where “Our Lady of the Rock” church stands. Then continue to the small beautiful town of Perast, where we will take a lunch break. Perast with its strategic position earned the construction of a fortress and ten watchtowers in the sixteenth century; this village is a must see when one visits Montenegro. Then, we’ll visit the Old Town of Kotor in the late afternoon. There you will have free time for individual exploring. After that back to the hotel in Budva for dinner and overnight. Read more

Plantaze: Wine Heritage of Montenegro

Breakfast, after we will drive to visit the vineyards of Plantaze. In Montenegro wine tradition dates back to the 2nd century. "Vranac" and "Krstas" are two indigenous varieties of wine which Montenegrins are particularly proud of. For lovers of good wine, the most famous wines of the region are the high-end white "Krstač", "Cabernet", "Chardonnay" and red, "Vranac", "Pro Corde" produced at Plantaze. The wine trail takes you through the most interesting and most remarkable vineyards of the country. After a walk along the coast, the trip takes you along the Skadar Lake and further to Podgorica. The great vineyard of Montenegro is the largest vineyard lands in Europe. The vineyard Plantaze, Cemovsko covers more than 2250 ha. After crossing vineyards, you will reach the wine cellar Sipcanik, which opened its doors at the end of 2007, and it is located in a former military facility which was transformed into a wine cellar. The winery is located about 30 meters below ground. That tunnel is 356 meters long, 13.5 meters wide and 7 meters high. A place of 7700 m² , with temperature constantly between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius and air humidity ranges between 70 and 80%. You will have the experience of tasting wine before lunch (local specialties). The wine tour of "Plantaze" lasts around two hours. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, and bringing a light jacket. Then return to your hotel for a free time in the afternoon and dinner at your hotel. Read more

Lake Skadar and Old Town Bar

Breakfast. Drive through the beautiful mountain landscape to the town of Rijeka Crnojevića, where you will embark on a cruise. This village was the capital of Zeta state, and was a great maritime trading hub and it is also known for its beautiful stone bridge. On your cruise you will pass by an inlet named Pavlova Strana that gives you access to Skadar Lake. You will see many islands with churches and monasteries. Skadar Lake is the largest lake in the Balkans, known for its beauty and rich environment. Your sail ends at Virpazar, the most popular merchant’s village. Once there, lunch will be served at a local restaurant where you will be able to try fish caught daily and cooked in the traditional way. After delicious meal, we will continue to Bar and its Old Town. The Old Town of Bar is located above Bar and conceals architectural treasures of Byzantine, Venetian and Ottoman empires. Ostrog Monastery

Breakfast, then we will embark to the most important Orthodox monastery in the Balkans: Ostrog Monastery, which is dedicated to St. Vasilije of Ostrog. It is situated on top of the rocky mountains. The monastery was founded in the 17th century by St. Vasilije Ostroski who was later buried in the heart of the monastery, and his body still rests in the monastery’s cave. Ostrog Monastery is a famous place of pilgrimage in the Balkans where three major religions intersect: Orthodox, Catholic and Muslim. The relics of St. Vasilije Ostroski are kept in a chapel and are called miraculous: many people who come to pray at the monastery have been miraculously cured or relieved of their diseases. Sveti Stefan, Budva, and Tivat

After breakfast depart for the visit of Sveti Stefan. Built in the 15th century on a rocky island, it was originally a shelter for those fleeing from Turkish invasions. This former village converted into luxurious place is one of the most famous views of Montenegro. Sveti Stefan is frequented by the biggest stars on the planet (Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Sylvester Stallone, Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt, Prince Charles and Lady Diana have also stayed there during their honeymoon). Guests enjoy the special architectural ambiance which contributes to the beauty of this place. Then you will go to the summer residence of King Nikola I, the only and last king of Montenegro. Further we will continue to visit the medieval Old Town of Budva, surrounded by ramparts, and the home to beautiful medieval churches. There, we will have a lunch break then head towards Tivat, to visit the most beautiful and luxurious marina on the Adriatic coast called Porto of Montenegro.
