Today you'll have the chance to see the Golden Circle. The Golden Circle has some of Iceland’s most stunning sights, starting with Thingvellir is a site of historical, cultural, and geological importance and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iceland. It lies in a rift valley that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and the oldest parliament in the world was founded at Thingvellir in 930. Next you drive to the Geysir geothermal area where the Strokkur geyser shoots a column of water up to 30 metres (98 ft.) into the air every 4-8 minutes in a thrilling display of nature’s forces. The circle continues with Gullfoss (Golden Falls) waterfall, created by the river Hvítá, which tumbles and plunges into a crevice some 32 m (105 ft.) deep. Read more

Today you will drive further along the coast as far as the phenomenal Glacier Lagoon. On the way you have an option on doing a hike on your own to one of our favourite waterfalls.

Today you will check out of your hotel and turn around and drive back the South Shore. This is a great opportunity to explore sight you might have missed on the way before.  You will also drive the Reykjanes Peninsula and do some much deserved relaxing at the Blue Lagoon. We encourage you to have an early start so you have the chance to stop at few of the sights at the Reykjanes Peninsula before the Blue Lagoon, such as Seltun geothermal area, Kleifarvatn and Grænavatn (green water). The Hotel is located around 20 min drive from KEF airport if you drive the main road. There is however an alternative route that we recommend if you have time and you are interested in ending your trip with some sightseeing. On the way you can stop at Gunnuhver geothermal sight, Reykjanesviti Lighthouse, Valhnukamol and the Bridge between two continents before heading to the airport.It is advised to be at the airport 2-3 hours before flight. The car is on full to full fuel policy. That means that you should get it full of gas and you should return it full of gas.
