Upon arrival at the airport in Managua, the country's capital city will be met by our driver who will accompany you to the hotel in Granada, the colonial city located at the southwestern shore of Lake Nicaragua.
Breakfast at the hotel. Discover the Spanish-colonial city of Granada, the third-oldest city in the Americas founded by Spanish captain Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba in 1524. Stopover at Doña Elba Cigars a small, family owned factory founded by the first cigar master in Granada Mr. Silvio Reyes since 1991. Explore the city: Colonial Churches and the famous La Calzada Street. Enjoy free time at the Central Park. This half day tour includes a Masaya Volcano trip, the first and largest national park established in Nicaragua since 1979. This volcanically complex has an area of 54 km includes two volcanoes and five craters having an elevation of 635 meters above sea level. This geological formation is part of the Quaternary volcanic range and its today, the only volcano in the western hemisphere where you are able to drive to the rim. Next, after the Masaya Volcano trip, enjoy free time shopping for souvenirs at the city of Masaya including a visit to the famous hummocks factory and to the handicrafts market. Breakfast at your hotel and then head for the Monteverde tour. Visit Monteverde Cloudforest Reserve. Created in 1972, the Monteverde Cloudforest Biological Reserve is one of the most famous in the world as well as one of the most important private reserves in costa Rica, with a total of 3,500 hectares of land. In the 2007 it was chosen as one of the Costa Rican 7 wonders. The geographical, topographic and climate conditions have conditioned the surprising biodiversity foun the Monteverde Reserve. In this Monteverde tour we can find four ecological "Live Zones" that give place to different ecosystems for hundreds of species of mammals, birds, butterflies, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and arachnids, also a variety of mosses, vines, other plants and typical trees of the Cloudforest. Today, we will leave Arenal around 06:00 a.m. towards the north Caribbean coast, to Tortuguero National Park. On the way, we will make a stop to take Bus and them continue by boat for the Tortuguero tour. The boat ride is by itself a real naturalist tour; you will see caimans, water birds and incredible rain forest flora from the canals and lagoons. We will arrive at the Lodge around noon for lunch. After lunch, your guide will invite you to go for a hike around the town, part of the Tortuguero tour and then, visit the Turtles Museum ($1 donation) and come back for dinner at your hotel. Early in the morning, around 06:00 a.m. your tour guide will invite you to enjoy of a boat tour on the canals and lagoons of Tortuguero, where you will have the opportunity to admire the exuberant flora and fauna of the rain forest. Breakfast at your hotel. Visit Cahuita National Park and Snorkeling. Your tour starts with a relaxing boat trip from the lush coast of Cahuita National Park to the colorful coral reef. You will have the chance to snorkel at the famous reef. After enjoying your underwater adventure the boat will head to the tip of the national park where you can dine on a picnic-style lunch (sandwich, fruit and drinks) with an incredible view of the wonders of Mother Nature. Enjoy the warm breeze characteristic to the Caribbean Sea and its beach. This is where you will start your walk over the nature trail that winds through the beautiful National Park in the company of a professional guide who will show you the magnificent range of flora and fauna living in Cahuita National Park. Breakfast at your hotel. Visit to Doka Estate Coffee Tour and Waterfall La Paz with Lunch. We will leave from San José to the zone of Alajuela. Our first stop is at Doka Coffee Plantation where we will enjoy a typical Costa Rican breakfast, followed by a Coffee Tour where the entire process will be explained. The next stop is La Paz Waterfall Gardens, where we get to enjoy a breathtaking view of the waterfalls between the cloud and rain forest as we hike on safe hiking trails. Also there is an animal rescue center, an aviary with 40 species of birds, toucan feeding, marmoset monkeys, insect exhibit, butterfly observatory and butterfly gardens, butterfly laboratory, two-toed sloths, monkeys, hummingbird garden with 26 documented species, serpentarium and ranarium (snake and frog exhibits), Jaguar, pumas, ocelots, jaguarondi, margays, and orchid, helicons and bromeliad exhibits .
