Murchison Falls National park lies on the Northern end of the Albertine Rift Valley. It is Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area and is bisected by the Victoria Nile. It hosts over 76 species of mammals and 451 birds. On your safari tour to this park, you will be able to see Rhinos, Lions, Hippos, Chimpanzees at Budongo Forest and many more wild animals in the park. You will be able to view the mighty Murchison Falls.

Your driver/ tour guide will pick you up in the morning and you will then head north to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary. The Rhino sanctuary founded in 1998, works to reintroduce black and white rhinos into Uganda. They run a breeding program and educate communities on these endangered giants, the problem of poaching and the need for environmental conservation. At the Rhino Sanctuary you will have a safari-hike to the rhinos which will give you the opportunity to view them at close range. After visiting the rhinos, you will have lunch at Kabalega dinner, 3km from the sanctuary (lunch cost not inclusive). After lunch you will then continue to Murchison Falls National Park. You will enter the park through the northern gate where you will see plenty of baboons on your way to the lodge. The journey is estimated to take 8 hours. You will get up for an early breakfast and have an early start on your game drive through the national park while the animals are most active. In the morning hours animals are active, the sun is not yet so bright and temperatures are cooler, this is the best time to spot wild animals. Your game drive will be in the northern part of the park. A drive through the park brings you closer to the animals; elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, different species of antelope and many tropical birds. They are all found in Murchison Falls! In the afternoon, you take a boat safari towards the base of Murchison Falls. Carefully watched by crocodiles, hundreds of hippos, buffaloes, water birds and all the other thirsty wildlife that the Nile attracts, your boat will arrive to the bottom of the 43-meter-high Murchison Falls, which approaches you with a thunderous sound. After your breakfast this morning, head to Budongo Forest, part of the Murchison Falls National Park conservation area, for chimpanzee tracking/trekking. Wear your light hiking shoes/boots and long trousers/shirts/blouses. You will be taken on a guided walk in search of the habituated chimpanzee family. Carry your binoculars and also look out for some birds as Budongo is a critical birding place for the Uganda birding safaris. After your chimpanzee trek, you will drive to Chobe Safari Lodge, which is situated on the southern side of Murchison Falls National Park. Unforgettable Murchison falls & Budongo! We spent 6 day Safari tour days on safari with Harrison our guide/driver from StarMount Safaris. We weren't expecting a welcome party at the airport but there they were; the owner and the guide to give us a warm welcome to Uganda. Booking process was smooth via email, with quick responses and we thought it was a very competitive price having done much research of local tour operators.
