Bhutan Walking Tour

This tour is an advanturious tour. There will be more Hikes and Walks and almost everyday there will be short walk. In Paro there will be hike to Taktshang Monastery which is the iconic monument of Bhutan. And in Thimphu will have hike to Tango and Cheri Monastery which is the first monastery established by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel in 17th Century. And in Punakha will hile to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyel Chorten, which over looks beautiful Kabesa village.

DAY 1

Paro Arrival Transfer to Thimphu

You will be welcomed at Paro International airport by our guide and driver with traditional way of welcoming our Guest. Then will visit Ta Dzong (Watch tower) which is our National Museum registered under UNESCO world heritage. Then will visit Paro RIngpung Dzong. After that will drive to Thimphu and on way will stop at Iron chain bridge that dates back to 15th century. On reaching Thimphu will check into Hotel and in evening will stroll in Thimphu town. DAY 2

Thimphu Sightseeing

After breakfast will drive till Dodena, and then will hike to Cheri Monastery which was established in 1620 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. It is the first monastery established by Zhanbdruung and he spent strict 3 years retreat and also rest of his life. The trail will take you through beautiful mixed forest of pine, oak, rhododendrons and many others. Will reach back to Thimphu for lunch. After lunch will visit Bhutan post if you like to have personilised stamps. Then will visit Takin reservation at Motithang followed by Zorig Chusum, where students are taught 13 arts and crafts of Bhutan. And will also visit Folk Heritage museum In the evening will visit Trashichho dzong, the beautiful fortress which houses most of the Government's office and King's Throne room. Thimphu to Gangtey

Today after breakfast will drive to Gangtey vai Dochula pass (3100 meters) . On reaching Dochula will stop for the view of eastern Himalayas if the weather is fine. Then will continue to Gangtey. Will have lunch on the way. Is here where the Black Neck Crane which is a rare species bird in the world visit in winter every year from Tibet in the month of November to end of March. After you reach Gangtey will do a short Gangtey Natural Trail hike is 1 hour and 30 minutes walk from gangtey valley through beautiful bluer pine forest with lovely view of roosting ground of black neck crane. Gangtey to Punkha

After breakfast will visit Gangtey Sangacholing Monastery which was built in 1613 by Gyalse Pema Thinley grandson of terton Pema Lingpa. And here you will love the wooden work and is one of the best wood work in Bhutan. The wood carvings here are awsome. Then will drive to Punakha. After reaching Punakha will visit Punakha dzong built on the confluence of Phochu (Male River) and Mochu (Female River). Today it is the winter residence of the Je- khenpho the chief abbot and also serves as the administration center of the Punakha district. DAY 5

Punkha to Paro

After breakfast will visit Sangchen Dorji Lhundrup Nunnery at Wolakha from where you will have a very good view of the villages around. Then will will drive towards Wangduephodrang and on the way will visit Chimi Lhakhang which was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley in 15th century (This monk is popularly known as the Devine madman for his philosophy, “Salvation through sex”). He subdued the demons with his “Magical Thunder bolt”. The Temple is also known as “The Temple of Fertility”. And it is a short hike through the paddy fields. Hike to Tigers Nest/Taktshang

Hike to Paro Taktshang(Tigers Nest) After Breakfast will Hike to Taktshang(Tigers Nest) which is one of the most popular monastery visited by the tourist. It was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup, a cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three months in the 8th century. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmasambhava) flew to this location from Khenpajong, Tibet on the back of a tigress and subdued a demon. He then performed meditation in one of the caves here and emerged in eight incarnated forms (manifestations) and blessed the place. Subsequently, the place came to be known as the "Tiger's Nest". Guru Padmasambhava is known for introducing Buddhism to Bhutan. Today, Paro Taktsang is the best known of the thirteen caves in which he meditated. In the evening stroll in Paro town.   • We do have mainly 2 seasons, lean season (Dec, Jan, Feb, June, July and August) and Peak season (Sep, Oct, Nov, March, April and May). So we have the same price for all the months of lean season and same price for all months in peak season. And if you travel in peak season the weather is very favorable as it will be not so cold and not so hot too with minimal rainfall.
  • We can also arrange the hotels or Resorts of your choice too. And when it comes to standard and comfort one its fine, but when it comes to luxury resort the cost will vary with the hotel/resorts that you choose. And the single supplement is chargeable for those who are travelling in group.
