Gangtey Cultural Tour

This is also an exciting tour in Bhutan. It covers 4 western districts of Paro, Thimphu, Punakha and Wangdi. Its also a cultural tour with some mix of short hikes and walks. With highest elevation at Dochula pass with 3150 m from sea level, but your highst halt will be at Gangtey with altitude of 2900 m. And Gangtey is one of the most beautiful valley in Bhutan and most of the time compared to Switzerland and some times known as mini Switzerland.

DAY 1

Paro Arrival Transfer to Thimphu

You will be welcomed at Paro International airport by our guide and driver with traditional way of welcoming our Guest. Then will visit Ta Dzong (Watch tower) which is our National Museum registered under UNESCO world heritage. Then will visit Paro RIngpung Dzong. DAY 2

Thimphu Sightseeing

After breakfast will visit National Memorial Chorten constructed by Second Queen Ashi Phuntsho Choden in the name of Her Late Son Third Monarch of Bhutan Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Then will visit Weaving Center where you will see the women of Bhutan weaving the clothes with Traditional Hand loom and Paddle Loom, followed by Buddha Point, where you will see 169 feet tall sitting Buddha over looking Thimphu City. Then if you are interested for Personalized stamps will visit Bhutan Post. After lunch will visit Folk Heritage Museum where you will see the the how our people had been staying earlier. Then will visit Takin Reservation where you will see Takin which is the national animal of Bhutan and is only found only in the Himalayas, and is one of the endangered species. Thimphu to Gangtey

Today after breakfast will drive to Gangtey vai Dochula pass (3100 meters) . On reaching Dochula will stop for the view of eastern Himalayas if the weather is fine. Then will continue to Gangtey. Will have lunch on the way. Is here where the Black Neck Crane which is a rare species bird in the world visit in winter every year from Tibet in the month of November to end of March. Gangtey to Punkha

After breakfast will visit Gangtey Sangacholing Monastery which have one of the best wood work in Bhutan. Then will continue to Puankha and on reaching Punakha will visit Punakha fortress which is one of the impressive fort in Bhutan which is built on the confluence of 2 rivers(Male and Female). Punkha to Paro

After breakfast will drive to Mitsena Village, and from there will have a short Hike to Chimi Lhakhang which is also known as Temple of Fertility, as we believe the if the couple does not con-sieve a child and pay respect in that temple they will be blessed with child. After that will drive to Paro. Again on way will halt at Dochula pass if you would like to spend some time. Hike to Tigers Nest/Taktshang

Hike to Paro Taktshang(Tigers Nest) After Breakfast will Hike to Taktshang(Tigers Nest) which is one of the most popular monastery visited by the tourist. It was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup, a cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three months in the 8th century. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmasambhava) flew to this location from Khenpajong, Tibet on the back of a tigress and subdued a demon. He then performed meditation in one of the caves here and emerged in eight incarnated forms (manifestations) and blessed the place. Subsequently, the place came to be known as the "Tiger's Nest". Guru Padmasambhava is known for introducing Buddhism to Bhutan. Today, Paro Taktsang is the best known of the thirteen caves in which he meditated. In the evening stroll in Paro town.   • We do have mainly 2 seasons, lean season (Dec, Jan, Feb, June, July and August) and Peak season (Sep, Oct, Nov, March, April and May). So we have the same price for all the months of lean season and same price for all months in peak season. And if you travel in peak season the weather is very favorable as it will be not so cold and not so hot too with minimal rainfall.
  • We can also arrange the hotels or Resorts of your choice too. And when it comes to standard and comfort one its fine, but when it comes to luxury resort the cost will vary with the hotel/resorts that you choose. And the single supplement is chargeable for those who are travelling in group.
