After lunch, continue driving to visit the intricately carved, beautiful pink sandstone temple of Banteay Srei – considered to be a Jewel of Khmer art. On the way back, we have a short visit at palm sugar village and other various local handicraft souvenirs before visiting the serenity of Banteay Samre. Today we begin our tour at 9.00am to visit Phnom Kulen – one of Cambodia’s national parks and a great place to cool off. This hill used to be the ancient capital city and in 802AD – after King Jayavarman II was initiated as the royal “God of the King”. We have a guided walking tour to visit Preah Ang Thom (Giant Buddha statue), it’s a very special and holy place where there are many people religiously respect and pray for happiness. Continue to witness historical site of 1000 linga carvings under the riverbed, see the secret pool where the white clear water source comes out of the ground-pool all year round.
