Dear Tru, We are now back to Australia-and quite sad we had to return. Our dreams are still full of bikes beeping, of food and incense smells, of of still rivers and majestic mountains and of all the smiles we were given in the past 3 weeks by the beautiful Vietnamese people. We would like to thank you
personally for your kindness, patience and support over our holidays. The small chaos we experienced with the hotels did in no way diminished the wonderful holidays we had and was a small discomfort with comparison to the great holiday we had. I will probably go in your records as a "grumpy traveller -and couldn¹t blame you for this, although I guess we were just unlucky we the proximate noise in some hotels! Vietnam is a country we will not forget and will always keep close to heart. Most importantly, we will cherish all our encounters with the Vietnamese people, whose resilience, kindness, gentleness, respectfulness and patience is an inspiration for all westerners. We have learnt a great deal from the people of Vietnam in general and from all those we have met along the way indeed. Particularly, we won't forget Ms Lan, Mr Chin, Mr Vinh, Mr Wu and Mr Tanh (and all our drivers) who have made our holidays a journey through wonder, beauty, timelessness, enjoyment and great learning. Indeed we have learnt from all our guides and we have treasured their company and our conversations, both casual and educational. Additionally we have learnt through the people of Vietnam, through our encounters and our observation that life -as we know it in our Western countries - can happen more harmoniously in different ways, with more humility and respect of others and nature. Briefly our journey through Vietnam will make us (one would hope) better people, more humble, more patient, more grateful and less complaining (this last one for me particularly...). Just one little thing perhaps: we would have preferred being taken to more modest but perhaps more traditional Vietnamese restaurant for lunch. Perhaps travellers could be given a choice every day of places they could have lunch. We will however remember the Secret Garden in Hoi An and the Mekong Delta restaurant we were taken to as restaurant of excellent cuisine quality. Also we had the pleasure to see A O show in Saigon. It was wonderful. I would highly recommend it to your clients (if they are finishing their journey). Thank you again for all your time and patience. We will definitely be in touch with you should we decide to pass by Vietnam again in the future. Kind Regards and best wishes to you and your family.
