If you arrive early, you can visit the heritage village and Museum for a more detailed insight into Sabah's rich and diverse ethnic background. Back on the road and to the top of Signal Hill (or Bukit Bendera), one of the highest points of the city. Often, visitors are not only drawn to the panoramic views over the center, but also to the Atkinson Clock Tower, with its prominent location on the hill. Following the road down, Kota Kinabalu is home to various landmarks of natural, historical and religious value. These sights all define what makes Kota Kinabalu such an interesting city to visit. Depart early morning from KK. The ride is about 1.5hrs depending on traffic. The journey can be scenic upon reaching the Sunsuron Valley. We will stopped at the Rafflesia Information Centre, which is along the roadside at the edge of the forest reserve, is the starting point for your search of the flower. Learn all about this parasitic flowers, which is rootless, leafless, without stem and chlorophyll from the exhibit here, which is complete with photos and detail explanation. Take your time to enjoy this highland dipterocarps forest with 20-35 meters high canopy and various species of rattan and wild gingers scattered on the forest floor. This forest is also a good place for bird watching as there are various species of Borneo native birds that can be found along the trail such as the Hornbill, Mountain Serpent Eagle, White-fronted Falconet, Borneo Ground Cuckoo and many more. Lunch at the Local restaurant along the way and you will turn off before Tambunan town and drive into Sunsuron Village. The homestay’s coordinator will meet you and group along with the host families at the village hall and tradisional welcome with gongs. Homestay orientation will be given by the coordinator. The host families will then walk you to their homes. In the afternoon you are welcome to join the community together spend their times at the football field or just mingle around at the village. Depend on the weather, your homestay co ordinator will arrange a local guide to take you to walk around the village and to visit the Herritage old bamboo house, Monument of War watu tinuridong and house of skull guritom ( the story telling of the head hunter by our ancient). After that Back to the host families and be ready back to the village hall for the cultural performance at 630pm and also potluck style dinner also combined with local home brewed rice wine. You will have a chance to spend your time chat with the local people, take part on the tradisional dance sumayau and learn how to beat a gong (tradisional music instrument). Sunsuron Homestay

Breakfast with the host families. Early the next morning you will be transferred to the Gunung Alab substation where we will register for the Minduk Sirung hike. To reach the summit of Gunung Minduk Sirung (2,050m asl) we have to cross mossy forests and tackle some rope sections. You can enjoy some splendid views of the Crocker Range along the way. You will have packed lunch, most probably at the summit. The trails about 12KM and ending point will be at Mahwa waterfall and enjoy cool dip freshen up in the natural water pool. Check in at the basic hostel at the Mahwa Sub station Park, you can have your dinner at one of the restaurant at the park. Read more

journey take about 2hrs drive to PHS, The hot springs is actually part of the huge Kinabalu National Park. The Poring Hot Springs was first developed by the Japanese during World War II and has progressed gradually to become one of the top tourist destinations amongst foreigners and locals alike. Poring Hot Springs is the best place to distress and soak away all the sores and aches in your muscles. The water of the hot springs contains sulphuric minerals which have been deemed to have special healing properties and is very famous among the locals. "Canopy walk" is a must for visitor who ever sets foot in Poring Hot Spring. It will take about 30 minutes or so to reach the canopy walkway right in the jungle of Poring Hot Spring via an uphill jungle trail. Read more

Your tour comes to an end today. There are no activities planned and you are able to depart the accommodation at any time. If you are staying in Kota Kinabalu longer, then there are some additional activities that your leader can assist with booking. It’s best to pre book these activities with your leader on Day 1 such as go for the Kinabalu National Park a UNESCO Heritage Park and wildlife search in eastern part of Sabah or explore the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park and more to offer.
