Breakfast.. In the morning depart from Antigua to embark on a Chichicastenango market tour in open air. Thursday and Sunday, traders bring their produce, textiles and handiwork from all the towns of the regions displaying them for barter and purchase. A visit to the colonial Church of Santo Tomas will prove to be a mystical experience. Upon the steps of the Church, revered Mayan priests conduct holy rituals, evoking permission from watchful ancestral spirits, through prayer and the burning of incense (copal resin). After the Chichicastenango market tour experience, enjoy your breakfast and in the morning head to the jetty to approach the boat that will drive them through the Lake of Atitlán in a journey of 45 minutes. Santiago Atitlan is one of the twelve towns that surround the lake and the but big of them, here you will be able to visit Santiago's Apostle church built in 1547, In Santiago we will visit Maximon, famous character of the Mayan spirituality that represents the duality: the well and the wrong and is “Great Grandfather” of all the people of Santiago's town. At the present time it is worshiped as a pagan god by the natives, and it is represented carrying cigarette and liquor. Here we will have the opportunity to observe the rituals, petitions and offerings that the residents offer him. At 05:15 a.m. depart to the airport ready to board the flight to Flores airport located in Petén, the North Central area of Guatemala. Upon arrival a tour guide awaits to take you on a short drive to the Tikal National Park, Massive ruins are concentrated at the center of the Tikal National Park (222 sq. miles). There are over 3000 separate constructions: Temples, shrines, ceremonial platforms, residences, ball-courts, terraces, causeways and plazas. At the appropriate time transfer to the jetty and begin your Rio Dulce boat tour, enjoying the scenic ride gliding past the lush green coast of Guatemala's "different" Caribbean. Continue to the mouth of the Rio Dulce, a jungle river inhabited by the Maya-Q'eqchi' ethnic group, one of the twenty groups spread throughout the country. While on this Rio Dulce boat tour, enjoy the sights and experience the nature surrounding you where we will visit the hanging gardens after that we'll visit Ak´tenamit project, hot water (thermal), the garden lagoon and Bird Island. After the Rio Dulce boat tour comes next the Garifuna village of Livingston where four different ethnic groups, Garifunas, Maya Queqchis, Hindu's and Latinos peacefully live together.
