In the morning, have a gym and swimming at the pool of Sheraton Hotel (the most luxurious in Addis Ababa) which is sourced from the Filwoha Natural Hot Springs. Then, drive 30 km to Menagesha National Forest, with an altitude ranging from 2,300 to 3,000 meters above sea level), where you will have about an hour walk to see Colobus Monkeys, Anubis Baboons, Common Duiker, and one of the endemic mammals of Ethiopia - the Menelik Bushbuck. The endemic birds in the forest include black-winged lovebird, banded barbet, Abyssinian Woodpecker, and Abyssinian catbird. In the morning, drive 30 km to Wenchi. At Wenchi, enjoy visiting the massive extinct volcanic mountain, with an elevation of 3,385 meters above sea level, and the crater lake of Wenchi. Walk for about an hour from the rim down to the lake where you will take a 10 minutes boat ride to visit the island monastery of Wenchi Chirkos which was originally founded in the 15th Century AD. Take a horse back ride from the lake up to the rim. Then, drive 35 km more to Welisso. Welisso is also referred to as "Ghion" in reference to the hot springs which is regarded as holy by Ethiopian Orthodox Christians. With an early start, take the road back to Addis and turn right after 100 km drive. The first place of visit today would be the rock carved church of Adadi Mariam which is cut out of a single piece of rock in the 13th Century AD and it is still operational. Then, with about half an hour stop at a local family house to enjoy attending a typical Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony, drive 35 km more to Tiya to visit the Steles of Tiya. It is a grave site where 42 huge stones where beautifully carved and erected in the 14th Century AD. It is one of the sites of Ethiopia registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage. After breakfast, take an hour boat ride in the Lake Ziway to see various low land water birds and families of hippos. Then, have a game drive in the Abiyatta Shalla Lakes National park to see gazelles, warthogs, ostriches, and some low land birds. After lunch at one of the resort hotels at the shores of the other Rift Valley Lake - Langano, drive farther south to Wondo Genet with a stop along the way at Shashemene to visit the 'Jamaica' Rastafarian Community. Spend the morning relaxing and bating in the natural hot springs, and then drive 75 km north in the Ethiopian part of the Great East African Rift Valley to Lake Langano. This lake is the only lake among the chain of lakes in the Ethiopian Rift which is suitable for safe swimming because of the absence of Bilharzias. After breakfast, set out to drive 275 km north and then east to the Awash National Park. Stop for lunch at Nazareth, the regional capital of the Oromo people, and drive east to the Awash National Park. Spend the morning at Sodere. After lunch, drive 125 km back to Addis Ababa on the new Express Way. In Addis Ababa, visit any place of interest you would like to, and take time for shopping in the famous Winsotn Churchil Road.
