Myanmar Classic Tour (13 days)

On this tour you will witness the ancient capitals of Mandalay, Hispaw which is very beautiful & nice for trekking and the famous Goitek Viaduct, the thousands of temple on the plains of Bagan, built between the 11th and 13th centuries, before travelling by long tailed boat in Inle Lake. You will end tour exploring the former capital of Yangon, which is home to the greatest collection of British colonial architecture in Southeast Asia.


Mandalay, was the last capital of the Konbaung dynasty, until its fall in 1885 in the hands of the British. Even today, Mandalay is the religious and cultural center of the country, offering a true aftertaste of the oldest Asia and more deeply Buddhist beliefs. After breakfast at your hotel, we will drive to Pyin Oo Lwin (May Myo), a scenic hill town in Mandalay Division. Then we will take the train to Hsipaw for one of the most memorable railway journeys in Asia; the route was made famous by Paul Theroux in his books The Great Railway Bazaar and later Ghost Train to the Eastern Star, and takes in the towering Gokteik Viaduct. Upon arrive to Hsipaw we will transfer to hotel. Hsipaw is a charming and laid-back town located high in the hills of Shan State and the possibilities of easily arranged hill treks. Read more

Today, we will start walking from Hotel along Tai (Shan) Villages and seasonal vegetable crop, rice paddy along natural spring and stream. Reach Palaung (minority) village, have local lunch in a hours rest a bit. Take afternoon walk through tea crops and pine woods; return to village and spend one’s evening with local family, have dinner served by village and night break or reach farther minority village. Start walking after local breakfast through farther minority villages along little forest for several hours and have break and lunch at a charming beautiful minority village. Start walking after local breakfast through farther Tai (Shan) villages along down slope for several hours, have break and lunch at hot spring or in Tai village. Reach Hi-way road, get pickup back to hotel.

After breakfast, we will drive back to Mandalay from Hsipaw. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to hotel and relax.

In the morning, we will visit the ancient royal capital of Amarapura including the Mahagandayon monastery which is a school for young monks, and U Bein Bridge, the longest teakwood bridge in the world, is more than two-hundred years old. We then continue to Sagaing which was the capital of the Shan Kingdom in the 14th Century and briefly the capital in the 18th Century, as part of the Konbaung Dynasty. The town is located slightly downriver from Mandalay and has many interested stupas scattered over Sagaing Hill. Later we will visit another former royal capital called Inwa, which was founded in 1364 including the ‘leaning tower of Ava’, Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery, one of the finest brick building decorated with flora and stucco, Bagaya Monastery built entirely of teak wood. Transfer to the Mandalay's Gawwein Jetty at 6am for boat cruise down the mighty Irrawaddy River to Bagan, arriving in time for dinner. On the way you will have the chance to relax and take in the slow pace of riverside life, including a local village visit (lunch on board the boat). Upon arrival to Bagan, you will be transferred to your hotel for leisure. Note: 1) Alliance Myanmar cruise is available on their schedule departure and once its cancel; we will use alternative Cruise (without stop over at the village). 2) we will arrange Mandalay – Bagan by private car From May to September. Today we will enjoy a Bagan Archaeological Tour which takes in famous sites including Damayarzaka Pagoda, Shwegugyi and Thabyinnyu. Other highlights include the mural paintings at Gubyukggyi and Abeyadana Temple, which is famed for its mural paintings about Mahayana Buddhism. In the afternoon we visit a lacquer ware shop to learn about this unique art, which Bagan is famous for, is carried out before enjoying Bagan’s famous sunset from atop one of the temples. Read more

Early morning transfer for the flight to Heho, located in the picturesque Shan State. Arrival at Heho airport and drive to Inle take a sightseeing board a private motorised boat and take a sightseeing tour of the lake. Highlights on the lake tour include five day market (if coincide), floating gardens, Inn Paw Khone village to witness the lotus and silk weaving industries, the floating village of Ywama, Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the museum-like Nge Phe Kyaung monastery. In the morning, we will pay a visit to the 17th century pagodas at Indein and traverse some of the narrow creeks that make up the denser areas of the lake. Explore Pao villages after two or three hours and then we walk back to the jetty.

Transfer to Heho airport to take a flight to Yangon. Once you are refreshed we will take a sightseeing tour of some of Yangon’s highlights, including the Reclining Buddha at Chauk Htat Gyi, still a popular place for Buddhist worshippers, and the National Museum, home too many interesting artefacts from Myanmar’s past. We will then visit the bustling Chinatown area in Yangon’s downtown before you have the chance to browse for Myanmar crafts at the Bogyoke Aung San Market. Our day ends with a visit to the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most important religious structure in Myanmar and a point of pilgrimage for Buddhists across the globe. Read more
