After breakfast, check out and private transfer to Almodóvar del Río, where you will have a 1:30 hour guided visit of the extremely well preserved 8th century Moorish castle. The Almodovar Castle sits above the town of Almodovar, on top of a sheer-walled monolith. Which is why, it can only be seen
from a large distance, and offers spectacular views over the entire Guadalquivir Valley. The fortress dates back to Roman times, the current construction, however, was built by the Arabs in 760. The Castle has always been important to the city of Cordoba, since its strategic location contributed to insuring the city’s security.
After the guided visit to the castle you will be driven to the nearby Hornachuelos natural park for a lovely lunch at a local restaurant, specialised in grilled meat and vegetables, offering spectacular views of the Bembezar river.
After lunch you will continue on to Sevilla. On arrival, check in at your hotel.
You will have a bit of time to settle down and rest before going on a short guided orientation walk in Sevilla to discover some of the main landmarks of the magic capital of Andalucia: Jardines de Murillo, Plaza de España, Mª Luisa Park, Alfonso XIII hotel, the Torre del Oro (The Golden tower) and the riverside of the Guadalquivir.
