Yerevan, 4 Nights

Early departure to the village of Garni. The citadel and pagan temple of Garni is a picturesque monument of the Hellenistic period and an impressive piece of ancient Armenian architecture. It was built in the first century A.D. by the Armenian King Tiridates and it is dedicated to a heathen god, probably to Mithra, the god of the sun whose figure stood in the depth of the sanctuary. After proclaiming Christianity as a state religion in Armenia in 301, the temple was probably used as a summer residence of the kings. Northeast of Garni, higher up the gorge of the Azat river, there is a magnificent monument of medieval Armenian architecture - Geghard monastery inscribed in UNESCO World Heritage list. Geghard is another incredible ancient Armenian monastery, partly carved out of a mountain. The meaning "the Monastery of the Spear", originates from the spear which had wounded Jesus during his crucifixion, allegedly brought to Armenia by Apostle Thaddeus, and stored amongst many other relics. Lunch at a local house in Garni where you will have opportunity to watch Armenian national bread “lavash” baking and barbeque making process in the underground stove called “tonir”. In the second half of the day visit depositary of ancient manuscripts the Matenadaran which contains historical documents from all over Europe and Asia throughout many centuries. Dear Khatuna, We are writing to thank you for your arrangement for our trip in Georgia. Though the weather was not too good that we needed to change our itinerary, we appreciated much the help of our driver Georgi who did a good job. He brought us to feel the beautiful snow that evening which was not his duty, and always took care of us by providing coffee, tea and very yummy snacks on the way. We feel especially impressed by Georgi who tried very hard using Geogle translation even though he couldn't speak English, and was very patient to have stopped the car for us to take nice photos. It's lot of fun and warm-feeling having Georgi to be our driver all along the route. Please relay our appreciation to Georgi !! Cheers. Read more

Dear Tinatin, I just wanted to review on the tour. We were soo happy with the way you organized the entire tour and our guide Nino. Our family was emotional at the time of departure to part such a lovely company. She was very informative and we also took notice how she cared about the environment by making sure to collect all the plastic bottles she saw on the locations of the attractions and later disposing them to where it belongs. She is well versed about the places we visited and she did share the history of each locations. Her passion to her job was evident each time she told the history of Georgia. Also, she made it a point to leave the hotel only after we have completed the check-in process and received the key. And Guram, was also a very helpful man. I guess it was his inefficiency with the language made it difficult for him to entertain us. But his smile once in a while did make us very happy. About the beauty of Georgia cannot be summarized in this mail. We would like to thank you once again for providing us with a memorable stay. Read more
