On this tour you will witness the ancient capitals of Mandalay, the thousands of temple on the plains of Bagan, built between the 11th and 13th centuries, before travelling by long tailed boat in Inle Lake, various colourful tribes, nature and trekking at Kyaing Tong (Kengtung). You will end tour exploring the former capital of Yangon, which is home to the greatest collection of British colonial architecture in Southeast Asia.


You will be met at the airport by our representative, who will help you to transfer to your hotel. Mandalay, the last capital of the Konbaung dynasty, until its fall in 1885 in the hands of the British. Even today, Mandalay is the religious and cultural center of the country, offering a true aftertaste of the oldest Asia and more deeply Buddhist beliefs. Depending on your time of arrival, visit highlights in the town include the highly-revered Mahamuni Pagoda, the wood-carved Shwenandaw Monastery and sunset at Mandalay Hill. Read more

Breakfast at hotel; visit the ancient royal capital of Amarapura. Here, we will visit the Mahagandayon monastery, which is a school for young monks, and U Bein Bridge, which is more than two-hundred years old and is the longest teakwood bridge in the world. We then continue to Sagaing, which was the capital of the Shan Kingdom in the 14th Century and briefly the capital in the 18th Century, as part of the Konbaung Dynasty. The town is located slightly downriver from Mandalay and has many interested stupas scattered over Sagaing Hill. Later, we will visit another former royal capital, Inwa, which was founded in 1364 and was the royal capital for nearly 400 years. Highlights here include the ‘leaning tower of Ava’, Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery, which was built by masonry as opposed to most other monasteries which are built with wood, and the elegant teakwood Bagaya Monastery. Transfer to the Mandalay's Gawein Jetty at 6am for boat cruise down the mighty Irrawaddy River to Bagan, arriving in time for dinner. On the way you will have the chance to relax and take in the slow pace of riverside life, including a local village visit (lunch on board the boat). Lunch on board. We will enjoy a Bagan Archaeological Tour which takes in famous sites including Damayarzaka Pagoda, Shwegugyi and Thabyinnyu. Other highlights include the mural paintings at Gubyukggyi and Abeyadana Temple, which is famed for its mural paintings about Mahayana Buddhism. In the afternoon we visit a lacquer ware shop to learn about this unique art, which Bagan is famous for, is carried out before enjoying Bagan’s famous sunset from atop one of the temples. Early morning transfer for the flight to Heho, located in the picturesque Shan State. Arrival at Heho airport and drive to Inle take a sightseeing board a private motorised boat and take a sightseeing tour of the lake. Highlights on the lake tour include five day market (if coincide), floating gardens, Inn Paw Khone village to witness the lotus and silk weaving industries, the floating village of Ywama, Phaungaw Daw Oo Pagoda, the museum-like Nge Phe Kyaung monastery. In the morning, we will pay a visit to the 17th century pagodas at Indein and traverse some of the narrow creeks that make up the denser areas of the lake. Explore Pao villages after two or three hours and then we walk back to the jetty.

Transfer to Heho airport for your flight to Kyaing Tong. Sightseeing in Kyaing Tong starts with Maha Myat Muni Pagoda, housing Mandalay style Buddha image. Proceed to Shan Lacquer ware. Then visit Standing Buddha image, (the place where Kyaing Tong was founded about one thousand year ago), Hot spa, Akha centre village and R.C.M church. Enjoy sunset at the one tree Hill, where alone 245 years old Kanyin-byu (Diptero carpus Spp) tree stands. The tree was planted by Alaungmintaya, the founder of Third Myanmar Empire. And then come back to the pottery village “Yan Gone” to observe the handicraft earthen pots of shan tribe. Lunch and dinner will be served. Read more

Overnight in Kyaing Tong


After breakfast, we visit to the central market. Then take the car about 50 minutes and trek about 1 ½ hours to arrive “Ho Kyin” villages, typical Akha tribe villages. From here continue for another 30 minutes to Na Phi Phank village, where Lahu and Akha village and to “Pang Ma Phai” Akha tribe village to learn more about their daily life. Come back to the car to go Mong Zine (Khun village) to see traditional Lahu Knives made by Lahu black smith. On the way back to hotel visit Joe Phyu “Wa village”. Lunch and dinner will be served. Overnight in Kyaing Tong


Breakfast at the hotel; take the car about 45 minutes for a hiking tour into the Pin Tauk area. Lush mixed monsoon forest with a view to the plain rice fields looking like a huge, green patchwork blanket. Visit the villages of Akha and Enn tribes. Some are haptized, some tribes still animists. The Enn are an ethnic group which tourists have found particularly interesting labeling them the “Black Teeth”. The walk is not difficult and can be done slowly. They live on the higher slopes. They have distinctively different costumes and beliefs from the other tribes. It will take about 4 hours to visit the villages. Take lunch at Pin Tauk water fall. Overnight in Kyaing Tong


After breakfast drive to Loimwe approach 2 hours’ drive 33km away from Kyaing Tong. Loimwe which literally translated means “misty mountain” is at an altitude of over 1600 meters above sea-level. It commands a magnificent view of the surrounding area remain many Colonial buildings and also a Catholic Church. The main attraction along the way is the scenery on the ascent to Loimwe, which passes through forests, terraced rice fields. On the way to Loimwe you will have several stops to visit different villages. Wan Lun Shan villages, walk and explore the native villages life; Ho Lup Akha village where you can see the traditional Akha tribes with their colorful dresses; Nang Cho Wa villages and Panwai Lahu villages on the left and right side of the road. Late afternoon you will be back in Kyaing Tong. Lunch and dinner will be served. Read more

Breakfast at the hotel, visit to central market which bustles daily from 6 to 11:00 in the morning. The market offers products from China & Thailand, and also it has local traditional clothing, antique coins and other implements for sale making good souvenirs. Then proceed to Naung Tong Lake and the Wat Lom Kham Pagoda, where scared hair relic of Lord Buddha is enshrined in it. Legend says Wat Lom Kham dates to a visit by Gacutama Buddha. If features a tall gilded stupa topped by a gold umbrella inlaid with silver, rubies, diamonds, sapphires and jade and hung with gold tinny bells. Read more

Transfer to Kyaing Tong airport to take a flight to Yangon. Once you are refreshed we will take a sightseeing tour of some of Yangon’s highlights, including the Reclining Buddha at Chauk Htat Gyi, still a popular place for Buddhist worshippers, and the National Museum, home too many interesting artefacts from Myanmar’s past. We will then visit the bustling Chinatown area in Yangon’s downtown before you have the chance to browse for Myanmar crafts at the Bogyoke Aung San Market. Our day ends with a visit to the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most important religious structure in Myanmar and a point of pilgrimage for Buddhists across the globe. Read more
