We depart from the hotel in the morning and drive southwards to the Vinh Long Province, which is situated between two branches of the downstream Mekong River. The lusciously green and beautiful Mekong Delta is the southernmost region of Vietnam. It was formed by sediments deposited by the Mekong River, one of the great rivers of the world and known to the Vietnamese as Song Cuu Long, river of the Nine Dragons. The Mekong originates high in the Tibetan plateau, flowing 4500 km through China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia before it reaches Vietnam as its final gate to the South Chinese Sea. A system of tangled river streams and canals has made the Delta a real water world. On arrival, the program will start with the visit of Cai Be colorful floating market cruising among local barges full of fruits and vegetables. Then, an optional stop can be made at local workshops where you can see how rice paste, coconut candy and pop-rice, pop-corn are made. The rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals and to enjoy the peaceful time. It is so interesting to see traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves and see some activities of the local farmers with an opportunity to make contacts with them and see how they catch fish... We can walk around and then we will enjoy some kinds of fruits when listening to the traditional music. One more thing to do in this trip is biking! After breakfast we enjoy a cruise to enjoy the morning floating market Cai Rang. Here each boat usually sells one particular item, whether it be pumpkins, pineapples, sugar cane etc, and in order that the customer knows where to shop, they hang that item from the highest part of the boat. After the floating market, we drive from Can Tho to Chau Doc through the amazing Mekong Delta with occasional stops to visit Binh Thuy ancient house and handicraft village during the journey. We get Chau Doc at around noon time, Chau Doc town is situated close to the Cambodian border. In the morning take high-speed boat to Phnom Penh. Arrive by cruise, then visit The Royal Palace - Silver Pagoda, home to the Cambodian royal family and a symbol of the nation. Seeing the Napoleon III Pavilion made from iron, a gift from the French emperor in the 19th century and continue to the Silver Pagoda, named after the 5000 silver tiles covering the floor, each weighing 1kg. Then visit the National Museum, home to the world's finest collection of sculpture from the Angkor period. Late afternoon, Visit to Wat Phnom, where the city was founded on a small hilltop, the city’s first pagoda was erected here in 1373 at the behest of the city’s founder, Madame Daun Penh, then enjoy one hour Sunset cruise on Mekong River. After Breakfast at hotel, visit The Roluos is the site of an ancient center of Khmer civilization known as Hariharalaya and as such the oldest temple complex of this area, dating back to the 8th and 9th century. Explore the three main temples Bakong, Preah Ko and Lolei on a short 3 km walking tour. The surrounding countryside with its paddy fields and sugar palm trees is very typical for Cambodia – enjoy the beauty on a cow cart ride at Roluos, a great and fun way to get in touch with rural Cambodia and its friendly people.
