Cross Borneo Trekking is Special Interest Tour by offering the real life in two parts of Borneo land. Meet the local people, pass some wild rapids, walks through the river, mud, rocks and hills in the deep of primary rain forest. Participants must have an adventurous spirit as the conditions are challenging. For meals, we provide local food and jungle menu. During trekking we use fresh water from nature sources and stay in simple tent. Based on basic facilities ….. No luxury.

Arrival Balikpapan

Arrival at Balikpapan Airport, meeting service and transfer by land transport to Samarinda. Check in to the Hotel, free at your own leisure.

Transfer to harbor at 06.00 am and onboard on public boat (river taxi) to cruise up Mahakam river to Long Bagun in 2 days / 1 night trip. Meals and overnight are provided on boat.

Muara Hubung - Atikop Hill

Ride the motorized canoe passing several small rapids in 2 hours to Muara Hubung. Start to trek and climb the Atikop hill, approximately 5 hours to reach the campsite at Muara Saite. Porter will set up a simple tent with waterproof awning. Meals prepared, and overnight in tent.

The forest where we went was so beautiful and the lodge also. After the trip to the destination, a meal was prepared by Mr. Udins wife who is a great cook! Even with our special diet, she surprised us with every meal! Of course seeing the orangutan in the wild is only to dream about but the whole stay made it so special. The lodge, the crew, the sounds, the animals, the super nice lunch we had on the way back and the interesting conversations we had. Every track we made was one to remember. We could do nothing than to recommend this trip to everyone interested in seeing the forest with all his animals and flora living there.
