Incredible India welcomes you !! On your arrival at the airport you will be met and received by our tour executive. He will then introduce you to your driver who will be with you throughout your trip. Proceed to pre booked hotel and relax from your long flight. Later after lunch head out visit Dakshinachitra, which is a center for the living traditions of art, folk performing arts, craft and architecture of India with an emphasis on the traditions of South India. Today proceed to Mahablipuram (1.5hrs drive), it lies on the Coromandel Coast which faces the Bay of Bengal. This is an elegant place to watch which a well-established sea port was during the 7th and 10th centuries of the Pallava dynasty. Spend the remaining day at leisure.
Full day to relax and visit some famous UNESCO monuments such as Arjuna’s penance, Shore Temple, Five Rathas, Krishna’s butterball , Ancient monuments, historic temples for their unique sculptures, the culture and tradition of the natives and so on. Today you will head to Pondicherry (2.5hrs drive), which stands as a living monument of the French culture in India. On reaching check in to hotel and relax. Spend the remaining day at leisure to explore on your own interest.
Full day to relax and sightsee Pondicherry. Auroville, which is a Universal Town where people from different nationalities, faiths and beliefs, can live in peace and harmony. Aurobhindo ashram, it was built with the object of creating an evolution of a higher spiritual consciousness. Later in the evening you can enjoy the cycle rickshaw ride in the French Quarter. Relax in the morning and start drive to Tanjpre (5hrs drive), on the way visit Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple, which is an architectural work of genius. In the early 11th century, the temple got built by Rajendra Chola, who was the son and successor of Rajaraja Chola. The temple is renowned for having the biggest Shivalingam in the Southern part of India. At Darasuram you will see the temple and the grandeur of Chola architecture. This is a well presented temple considering it was built in the 12th century AD. Here you can see the musical stone stairs that produce a metallic sound like a xylophone when struck. In the morning visit the Brihadeeswara temple, the finest Dravidian (South Indian) style temple. Chettinad is something of a world apart and a truly unique destination. Here visit the local markets and temples, observe the local craft of tile-making, Kannudakathan is a perfect place to slow down, walk the quiet streets and meet the local people. Chettinad Cuisine is the cuisine of this region, is one of the spiciest and the most aromatic in India. It is famous for its use of a variety of spices used in preparing mainly non-vegetarian food. Full day sightseeing of Chettinad. Today you visit the local craft of tile-making at Athangudi, Wood carving and Hand weaving of Kandangi sarees at Karaikudi. Today morning drive to Madurai (2hrs drive), the oldest as well as the second largest city of Tamil Nadu. Madurai is one of Tamil culture's most vital centers the temple and bazaar are at the heart of this vibrant and colorful city. On reaching check in to your hotel and relax. Day at leisure to explore the city with your own interest. Madurai is renowned for its silk and cotton. You can visit the nearby colorful bazaars, this will give you an insight of the local people. Today you will drive 2.5hrs to the backwaters region of Alleppey also known as "Venice of east”, where you’ll embark the traditional Houseboat. You will be floating rhythmically to the waves and enjoy watching Kuttanadu farming, coir making, fishing, dish washing and day to day activities of the local village people. There is a Kerala that lives along these backwaters busy with its own unique culture, it will be incredibly different experience just floating in this backwaters and absorbing unusual representation.
