This involves to abolish the borders to enjoy a single geographical bloc which condenses different cultures, different nationalities, folklores and different gastronomies. However, the historic base remains common: Inca Empire and Spanish Conquista.

Situated on the Edge of the Ocean, Lima was known as the Pacific Pearl. Bolivia. How can I talk about this country without falling into the trap of simplistic superlatives, or, more difficult still, without sounding contradictory? A few days ago, Apolino, an Amazonian boatman, summed up this unfathomable country for me by saying “BOLIVIA? TODO POSIBLE, NADA SEGURO!” In other words, here, everything is possible (very true) but nothing is (ever) certain! Because Bolivia is everything and its opposite.

As one arrives in Tupiza (2950 m), from the lost lagoons of Great Lipez, or accompanying one of the last caravans of llamas on "the salt road" that barter between the highlands and the central valleys, a pleasant feeling seizes you. In Tupiza, the soft light in the evening on the multicolored mountains, the shadows of the cactus, as much as the towers guarding the entrance to the winding canyons, the peasants slowly plodding home on horseback…
Bolivia - a land of stunning Andean scenery, vast salt flats, archaeology and vibrant indigenous people, a perfect holiday destination.
If you want to experience Salar de Uyuni, you can plan different activities and embark on various excursions.
The Tunupa Volcano lies close to Salar de Uyuni. It is a remainder of the geological activity which created the Andes Mountains millions of years ago. The volcano is relatively easy and safe to climb to an approximate altitude of 4,700 meters (beware of altitude sickness). With the climb you will be at about 1,000 meters above the salt plain.
Visiting the salt flat of Uyuni from Tupiza is magic, you see the most beautiful part of Bolivia from the best way, not crowded, visiting the colored lagoons in the perfect time, the salar of uyuni at the end of the tours, the incredible sunrise in the salar, and the biggest mirror effect on the earth, what an incredible experience.
